There were some reports earlier that Anushka had refused to be a part of the movie Vaanam. But these rumors have now been laid to rest as it is confirmed that she is indeed playing the role of Saroja in the film. The movie is a remake of the Telugu hit. The movie was a multi starrer which got an amazing response from the audience.

Apart from the star cast, she claims nothing much has changed in the movie. She says that she is not apprehensive in portraying different characters and she takes them on as a challenge. She says that she only does what the audiences demand and all that the audience wants is for her to do different films. She says that all the initial rumors of her not doing the project are utter rubbish. She claims that this film in Telugu brought a lot of love and appreciation from the audiences and there is absolutely no reason for her to refuse such a project.

She is currently shuttling between Hyderabad and Chennai as she has a number of other Telugu projects tucked up her sleeve. She has no qualms in giving interviews in any part of the country or going the extra mile to promote her films
