Futuristic Vehicle Designs

Honda's Great Race 2025 is a futuristic vehicle that is designed to whip around the globe in 24 hours by land, sea and air. The car has sonar/echolocation sensors that are able to detect changes in speed, terrain, and altitude, allowing it to switch to any configuration.
Luxury racing arrives in the Mercedes-Benz Formula Zero Racer by incorporating elements from the Formula One racing world with the track dynamics of the bobsled or luge, and the grace and efficiency of yacht racing. It has electric hub motors, aero-efficient solar skin and high-tech rigid sail. The Mercedes Benz Blue Zero concept car - though certainly not as memorable from a design perspective as the previous car - is much more likely to become a reality. The Blue Zero is a five-seat electric car that could accelerate to 60 mph in less than 11 seconds and would have a 1000-pound carrying capacity, roomy luggage compartment, and a low center of gravity. The car could travel 124 miles on one charge, according to Popular Mechanics. The GM Chaparral Volt Concept uses advanced EREV propulsion, energy collection, generation and management system to create a category of racing the company calls "the eco-triathlon." The Chaparral Volt collects and generates its own energy from three different clean, renewable and abundant California resources: earth (gravity and momentum), wind (aero-thermal) and fire (radiant sunlight). The stunningly designed Cadillac Converj concept car has an all-electric range of 40 miles, an electric motor with 120kw of power, and can reach 100 mph. Since most Americans have a commute that is shorter than 40 miles, this car - if it existed yet - could mean you never had to buy gasoline again.vAudi introduces the R25, the latest prototype in its racecar lineup. The vehicle incorporates innovative features, such as high-velocity banks and tunnels, which allow cars to race inverted. All top sections of the tunnels and banks are wireless electrical charging zones, which encourage the drivers to utilize these free energy zones instead of fuel stops.Johnson Controls re3 Concept vehicle - re3 stands for re-think, re-new, re-spond - offers a plug-in, lithium-ion battery; hybrid drivetrain and a display system that lets the driver peronalize it with drag and drop icons. The company claims that its goal is to help consumers "succeed in creating 'smart' environments" with cars that "bring value today - reducing weight, optimizing cost and providing sustainable solutions."In the Volkswagen Bio Runner, the rider has controls attached to his/her hands and feet that manipulate the wheels via synthetic muscle-based suspension. The vehicle has dual-turbine engines that run at an ultra-efficient 500,000 rpm and operate on bio-synthetic jet fuel. The vehicle feeds video to the driver when visibility is limited and contains telemetry analysis software, which in the case of emergency, takes over piloting to avoid danger unseen by the driver.
