Towering head and shoulders above her parents, this giant teenager is the tallest in the world at a whopping 6ft 10 in and she could still be growing. Weighing in at 20.5 stone, Malee Duangdee from eastern Thailand knew she was different from a young age, growing much faster than her school friends. Her height brought the 19-year-old problems while she was at school and she suffered from bullies and has memories of a lifetime of loneliness. She said: 'I used to feel like a freak, schoolchildren used to bully me and call me names. But since leaving school I've tried to feel more comfortable with who I am. Troy Polamalu Hair Insured For $1 Million set Guinness Record

Troy Polamalu is not only an outstanding player -- he also possesses outstanding hair, at least in the opinion of Head and Shoulders, which has previously run advertisements with the Steelers safety.

According to a press release, the shampoo company took out a $1 million insurance policy with the massive British reinsurer Lloyd's of London. The haircare brand boasts that Polamalu's legendary locks are "so ridiculously full and thick that end to end [his hair] spans 100 football fields."

Dreidel palooza - Most Dreidels Spun Guinness World Record

A pair of Yeshiva University students are hoping their school is tops - for at least one night.

The duo devised "Dreidelpalooza," their bid to break the world record for most people simultaneously spinning the four-sided Chanukah tops - while raising much-needed scholarship money for fellow students.

"People are really excited. They think it's cool," said Jason Katz, whose group Students Helping Students will benefit from the dizzying display.

"It's something everybody who's involved can tell their kids, tell their grandkids - I was part of a world record."

Katz and fellow junior Fiona Guedalia need 540 dreidel devotees to join them tomorrow night at the school's Max Stern Athletic Center at 184th St. and Amsterdam Ave. to topple the current mark of 541, set five years ago at Temple Emanuel in Cherry Hill, N.J.

Once set in motion, the whole topsy-turvy thing is expected to last just 10 seconds - and then hopefully endure in the Guinness Book of World Records.

"It's open to the public," said Katz. "And we'll be offering tutorials for dreidel amateurs."

Most Number of Guinness World Records Holder - Ashrita Furman

He holds 122 Guinness World Records – and one of them is the official record for holding the most world records - New Yorker Ashrita Furman doesn’t pass up the chance of breaking a world record, no matter what he has to do.

Furman has walked 80 miles with a milk bottle balanced on his head,
performed 9,628 sit-ups in an hour, balanced a 93-pound stack of milk crates on his chin, and balanced 700 eggs on end simultaneously, reports The Sun.

His other feats include hula hooping for the fastest mile at Ayers Rock in Australia and completing the fastest mile on a pogo stick in Antarctica.

Born Keith Furman, he grew up obsessed with his yearly copy of the Guinness Book of World Records. At 15, he discovered yoga and meditation.

“I could make progress in every field if I meditated - in sports, mental agility, everything. I realised it wasn''t my body but my spirit that got me through - I could achieve anything if I put my mind to it. After that I knew I could achieve my childhood dream of breaking a Guinness World Record,” he said.

Furman broke his first record in 1979 performing 27,000 star jumps. And it was too much fun to stop. In 1986, he set the record for underwater pogo stick jumping and introduced it on US TV show Good Morning America on April Fool's Day.

That same year he began setting records at historic landmarks by doing forward rolls along the entire 12¼ mile route of Paul Revere''s Ride in Massachusetts and jumping 11½ miles up and down the foothills of Mount Fuji in Japan on a pogo stick.

"I think those are two of my favourite records," he recalled. Furman admitted his record breaking has become an obsession. "I would stay up until two or three in the morning, sifting through the 40,000 records on file for ones I had a shot at breaking - I came up with a list of about 1000,” he confessed.

"I've broken over 350 records in my life and it hurts when somebody breaks mine but I just think, 'Right, what would it take for me to win that one back?"

"I am always looking for the next challenge so I often train for about four or five records at once. There is no goal number in my head now, but lately I've been breaking about 50 records a year," Furman added.

So will he ever stop?

"Why would I when I'm having so much fun? Whether it's hopscotch, skipping ropes or hula hoops, I get to be a big kid every day. When it stops being fun, I'll stop. But until then there is always a new challenge to face, always another mountain to climb - I want to try Mt Fuji on stilts next!"

World Tallest Married Couple in US set Guinness World Record

Their height made Wayne and Laurie Hallquist seem like a good match when they met years ago at a Baptist single's club, and on Thursday they were matched with something else – the title of world's tallest couple.

Guiness World Records gave that towering distinction to the Hallquists in a ceremony under the marquee at its Hollywood museum, where the couple arrived in a white limousine, with Wayne sporting a tuxedo and Laurie in a white wedding dress.

The Hallquists, who live in Stockton, California, measure a combined 13 feet and 4 inches, or 407.4 centimeters to be exact, with Wayne standing 6 feet 10.4 inches and Laurie 6 feet 5.95 inches.

Wayne is a telephone company splicer and Laurie is a realtor who advertises herself as "head and shoulders above the rest."

Their height brings both perks and downfalls, as Laurie explains.

With more than 200,000 people taking part in a series of oddball events today you'd be forgiven for thinking they'd been on the black stuff.

But the mad-cap masses were in fact taking part in the annual Guinness World Records Day which sets out to break a series of records from the heroic to the down-right daft.

Among the more ridiculous record-breaking bids was the discovery of a maple leaf said to be the world's biggest.

Guinness Record as Oldest Pig Passes away at 21 at Dallas

The world's oldest pig headed this week to hog heaven, where belly rubs, goose-down feather beds and an endless supply of airline peanuts awaited him.

Oscar, the Vietnamese potbellied pig from Far North Dallas , claimed the Guinness World Records title last year when he turned 20.

He died Tuesday, a little more than a week after his 21st birthday.

Owner Stacy Kimbell sent out an email announcing the sad news to friends and family.

"He was the most loyal and genuine buddy that a gal could ever want," she wrote.

Worlds Largest Museum of Dinosaur Guinness Record set by Shandong Tianyu Museum of Nature

Guinness World Records confirmed that a dinosaur museum in east China's Shandong Province has been the largest of its kind in the world, said by Museum’s officials,
In Pingyi County, the Shangdong Tianyu Museum of Nature which was opened in 2004 is devoted to dinosaur and other prehistoric fauna, applied for a Guinness World Record in early June and received the confirmation.

"It contains 28,000 square meters (301,389 sq ft) of exhibition space, housing 1,106 dinosaur specimens and thousands of other ancient fossils," the London-based agency said in a certificate to confirm it as the world's largest dinosaur museum.

The dinosaur specimens are all represented by almost complete skeletons, including 368 psittacosaurid specimens, 391 dromaeosaurid specimens, 255 Anchiornis specimens, 22 Jeholosaurus specimens, and 70 other rare dinosaurs and unnamed dinosaur fossils.

Largest Barefoot Walk Guinness World Record set by Student of Palamuru University India

The National Service Scheme (NSS) cell of Palamuru University broke the existing Guinness World Record for the ‘largest barefoot walk'.

The event took place at 7.01 a.m. on Friday at the university campus in which over 2,500 people in various age groups participated, according to NSS programme coordinator of Vangeepuram Sreenatha Chary.

The existing Guinness record involving 1,141 participants was held by Infinitus Company Ltd, China.

Biggest Custard Pie Fight Guinness Record set by Lawrenceville School Student

 The Lawrenceville School hosted the potentially record-breaking chocolate custard pie fight at a campus field — fittingly called “The Bowl” — yesterday afternoon, hoping not only to earn a spot in the Guinness World Records, but also to raise money for the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (TASK).

Armed with 1,541 confectionery bombs, the battle — fought by the school’s students and faculty — raged well over five minutes. Participants paid $4 each for the chance to pummel their peers with the tasty weapons, and, combined with other donations from campus organizations and independent contributors, the fight generated around $10,000 for TASK.

Woolworths is attempting to set the Guinness World Record for the biggest ever game of pass the parcel and is asking UK towns and cities to take part.

Woolworths, the online family superstore, will fleetingly return to the high street to set the Guinness World Record for the largest ever game of pass the parcel, and is appealing for towns and cities across the UK to take part.

By visiting the Woolworths Pass the Parcel site between the 1st and the 15th November 2010, families can nominate their town to be visited by Woolies' loveable snowmen, Stan and Ollie Snow who will bring along with a giant parcel the size of a small car. The parcel will contain thousands of pounds worth of toys , including some of the most sought after gadgets, games and playthings for Christmas 2010, as well as an abundance of Christmas spirit to start the town's festive celebrations. All items will be given away over the course of Woolies' world record breaking pass the parcel Christmas adventure.

The 10 towns or cities with the best letters of nomination will win a visit from the record breaking parcel in the weeks leading up to Christmas, with the writer of each letter invited to tear one giant layer off the parcel and take away some of the top toys for Christmas valued at close to £500.  These will include a Jet Pack Buzz Lightyear , Pumpaloons, a Paper Jamz Shark Guitar and a V Tech KidiZoom video camera , all cult toys that could sell out on the high street as the 25th of December draws near.

12 Fingers and 14 Toes Guinness World Record

Pianists, typists and tailors might all look on green with envy at Haramb Ashok Kumthekar, of Goa in India, who has six digits on each hand and seven digits on each feet.

But for Heramb, 22, it means he cannot even wear a pair of simple flip-flops, nor can he find a pair of gloves that fit his hands in the winter.
Even more frustrating is the fact that Heramb does not even hold the official Guinness world record for most digits on a person because some of his fingers are technically attached, even though they have separate bones.

World's Ugliest Woman World Records by Anne Woods - Weird

A BRITISH world champion GURNER has finally had her feat officially recognised by Guinness World Records for World's Ugliest Woman.

Anne Woods was accepted into the record books after winning the world title 27 times. The contest takes place in her hometown of Egremont, Cumbria, at its regular Crab Fair.

And after her latest success in September, her daughter Brenda Hoey applied to have her included in the prestigious tome.

Judges have now confirmed Anne, 62 - who performs to the sound of Babybird's hit You're Gorgeous - will appear in the next edition of the book alongside fellow Cumbrian Tommy Mattinson, who has won the men's title eleven times.

When more than 1.25 lakh people from across the country and beyond were readying themselves to welcome Sri Sri Ravi Shankar for Annam Brahma event, a few hundreds were jostling for space to meet him at a private residence. World's Largest Wine Glass Guinness Record set by Lebanon

Lebanon has claimed the guinness world record for the world's biggest wine glass, which can hold an incredible one hundred bottles.

An adjudicator of the Guinness Book of World Records confirmed that the plexiglass vessel measured 94.48 inches (2.40 metres) in height and 65 inches (1.65 metres) in diameter.

Adjudicator Elizabeth Smith confirmed the record saying: "I'm here from London and I'm very proud to announce that Vinifest and Eventions, and Lebanon have created a new Guinness world record for the largest wine glass."

World Largest Halloween Party Gathering set Guinness World Record

Saints fans set a new world record. 17,777 fans came to the Steelers game in costume, putting them in the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest costumed crowd at a Halloween event.

Saints fans don't mess around. They know they're from one of the most haunted cities in the country, and they take their football and Halloween seriously. They don't clown around here.

Lots of women went the sexy route, and there were some who wanted to be spooky; spooky enough for the Steelers.

"Well, we love Lance Moore, and we just feel like an under estimated portion of the Saints team and this season he has really pulled it out for the Saints, so we just wanted to celebrate Lance," said Saints fan Katie Rigsby.

Indian Army Personnel Broke a Guinness World Record

Indian Army personnel broke a world record by being the only team in the world to cross a staggering distance of 1000 meters carrying 48 persons on a single moving 500 cc Royal Enfield motorcycle here over the weekend.

The motorcycle team of the Indian Military Corps, 'SHWET ASHWA' set this record on Saturday and re demonstrated for media and public on Sunday.

The group earlier had the unique distinction of holding a world record of crossing 225 meters carrying 151 men on 11 motorcycles .The feat was acknowledged by Guinness Book of World Records in 1999.
